The Taraba State Bureau of Public Procurement (due process) was established in 2012 under the Taraba State Public Procurement Law, TSPPL2012. The objectives of the Bureau are to ensure probity, accountability, and transparency in public procurement throughout Taraba State. The agency is therefore charged with the responsibility of formulating policies and guidelines relating to procurement in Taraba State as well as certifying all Procurements before, during and after the awards of Contract. Its scope of operation shall Include the State Government, Local Government Councils/Development Areas and all procuring entities in the State.
The bureau was also established to inspect or review any procurement transaction to ensure compliance and to determine whether any procurement entity has violated any law provision in pursuance of the regulations.
The bureau maintains a list of firms and persons debarred from participating in public procurement activities and publicizes them in the public procurement journal.
Formulate the general policies and guidelines relating to public sector procurement for the approval of the council.
